Terms of service
Last updated: 26 September 2026
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the team that provides Budget Pro (“we”, “us”), for the use of Budget Pro: the website, the web app and the Android app. By creating a shop or using Budget Pro you accept them on behalf of yourself and the business you register. If you do not agree, please do not use Budget Pro.
2. The service
Budget Pro helps you run a shop: selling, stock, customers and debts, suppliers, expenses, reports, staff logins and messages such as receipts and reminders. We may improve, change or add features over time. If we remove something important to paying customers, we will tell you in advance.
Budget Pro is a record-keeping tool. The figures it shows come from what you and your staff enter. It is not accounting, tax or legal advice, and you remain responsible for your business's books, your prices and your obligations to your tax authority and other authorities.
3. Your account and staff
- The person who creates the shop is its owner and controls its plan, its staff logins and its settings.
- Give us true details and keep your password and any app PIN private. You are responsible for what is done with your logins and your staff's logins.
- Give each member of staff their own login and a role that fits their job; remove access when someone leaves.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Trial, plans and payment
- A new shop starts with a free trial of 14 days. No payment details are needed to start.
- Paid plans are billed in advance for each period (normally monthly) at the price shown on our pricing page when you pay, in the currency shown when you pay (US dollars, or your local currency where we price in it). You can pay by mobile money or card.
- If you do not choose a paid plan when the trial ends, or a paid plan ends and is not renewed, your shop moves to the Free plan with its lower limits. We do not delete your records because a payment is late.
- When a paid period ends unpaid there is a grace period of 7 days during which phones keep selling and syncing and the website is read-only; then the shop moves to the Free plan.
- Each plan has limits (for example on products, staff logins, phones or sales a month). Sales are never blocked for being over a limit, but adding more products, staff or phones may require a higher plan.
- We may change our prices. A new price applies from your next period after we have told you about it; it never changes a period you have already paid for.
- Payments are not refundable for a period already started, except where the law requires otherwise or we decide to make an exception.
5. Your data
- The records you put into Budget Pro belong to you. We use them only to provide the service to you, as described in our privacy policy.
- You can export your records at any time while your shop has an account.
- Where your records include other people's personal information (your customers, suppliers or staff), you are responsible for having a lawful reason to keep it under the data protection law that applies to your business, and we process it on your behalf.
- We back up the service every night, but you should still keep your own exports of anything you cannot afford to lose.
6. Messages to your customers
Budget Pro can send receipts, debt reminders and other messages to your customers by WhatsApp, SMS or email, on your behalf and in your shop's name. You must only message people who have given you their number or address for that purpose, and you are responsible for what your messages say. Messaging providers set their own rules; we may pause messages from a shop that breaks them or that receives complaints.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Budget Pro to:
- break the law, including by recording or selling goods that are illegal, or by hiding income from the authorities;
- send spam, threats, or harassing debt-collection messages;
- try to reach another shop's data, test our security without our written permission, or overload the service;
- copy, resell or rebuild Budget Pro, or share one shop's account between separate businesses.
We may suspend a shop that breaks these rules, and will tell the owner why unless the law prevents us.
8. Availability and offline use
We work to keep Budget Pro available at all times, but it may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, such as internet or power failures. The phone app is built to keep selling offline and to send sales when the connection returns; records that have not yet been sent exist only on that phone, so keep phones safe and let them sync regularly.
9. Closing your shop
- The owner can close the shop from its settings. Closing needs the owner's password and takes effect after 30 days, during which it can be cancelled. After that, the shop's records are permanently deleted, and you should export anything you want to keep beforehand.
- We may close a shop that has seriously or repeatedly broken these terms, after warning the owner and giving time to export, unless the law requires us to act sooner.
10. Liability
We provide Budget Pro with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit, lost sales or lost opportunities, or for losses caused by wrong information entered into the service, by your staff, or by events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability to you in any twelve months is limited to the amount you paid us for Budget Pro in that period. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law does not allow to be limited.
11. Law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction over any dispute. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve it.
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell shop owners before it takes effect; using Budget Pro after that means you accept the updated terms.
